  • The Arizona Cardinals selected Matt Leinart with the tenth overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. He set an NFL rookie record with 405 throwing yards. In November of his debut season, he received quarterback ratings of 74.
  • He started at quarterback for the 2007 season. After being released by St. Louis Rams linebacker Will Witherspoon, Leinart cracked his left collarbone and was placed on injured reserve.
  • His season was over because of the injury. In the 2008 offseason, he returned to the starting lineup after recuperating from injuries.
  • Kurt Warner reclaimed him after he failed to perform satisfactorily. The Cardinals also kept him as a backup quarterback for the 2009 season.
  • Following Warner’s retirement, there was conjecture that Leinart would take over as CEO beginning in 2010. Anderson, Max Hall, and John Skelton replaced him in September 2010.
  • Following his release by the Cardinals,  signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans to serve as Matt Schaub’s backup.
  • Due to injuries, I am currently working as a sports analyst.
  • During the 2010 season, he appeared in 16 games whereas Leinart did not. Furthermore, he returned to Houston as a backup quarterback for the 2011 season.
