According to a source close to the matter, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker welcomed their first child, a son called Rocky, to ABC News.
The June announcement of the couple’s pregnancy came after a Blink-182 concert in Los Angeles. Kardashian held up a sign in the audience that said, “Travis I’m pregnant.” The couple was married in 2022. The drummer exits the stage to give Kardashian a joyful kiss in a video she posted on Instagram.
An “urgent family matter” involving Barker caused Blink-182 to postpone the band’s European tour dates on September 1. On September 6, almost a week later, Kardashian posted on Instagram about undergoing “urgent fetal surgery” in order to rescue their unborn child.
Kardashian claimed in her post that she had “a whole new understanding and respect for mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant,” adding, “Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing.”
During a Vogue interview on October 17, Kardashian acknowledged that her baby’s surgical condition was discovered through an ultrasound.
“That experience opened my eyes to a whole new world of pregnancy that I didn’t know about in the past.”
“It was terrifying,” She spoke about the encounter. “After I learned that insurance typically only covers two ultrasounds when you’re pregnant, I had no idea. I’ve always been lucky enough to do more than what insurance covers, and it’s one of those ultrasounds that saved my baby’s life.”
The latest addition to the family results from a protracted process of in vitro fertilization.
In addition, Kardashian is a mother to the three kids she had with her ex-partner Scott Disick: daughter Penelope and sons Mason and Reign.
Barker and his former partner Shanna Moakler are parents to three children together: stepdaughter Atiana, who is Moakler’s child with her ex-partner Oscar De La Hoya, son Landon, and daughter Alabama.
