Her mother was born on December 11, 1923, and her father on April 18, 1921. Cahn’s mother died in 2013, at the age of 89, and her father died four years later.
Her father was an American businessman and designer who co-founded the Coach Leatherware Company.

In terms of her personal life, Chan met Batali at a food event in New York City in 1992. She attended the event because her family was in the business.
Similarly, Mario was the chef at the same event and later fell in love and began a romantic affair. They later took their relationship to the next level, marrying in November 1994. They exchanged vows on a Caribbean beach.
